Diamondbacks' Jake Lamb: Out of lineup Tuesday

Lamb is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Marlins.

Analysis:

With lefty Justin Nicolino on the bump for Miami, it isn't too surprising that Lamb will sit this one out. However, this is the third game in a row that he's sat out, even with right-hander Chad Bettis having thrown for the Rockies on Sunday. Lamb was reportedly dealing with a sore shoulder over the weekend which could've been the reason behind that, but he said he's feeling better now, which adds question to Monday's roster decision. It's surprising that the Diamondbacks are ok with leaving Lamb's .879 OPS on the bench, although his replacement Brandon Drury has been swinging an even hotter bat as of late, which could be a factor in the decision. Either way, this playing time situation will be interesting going forward, especially if both players keep up their torrid hitting ways.
