Cardinals' Kolten Wong: Homers in win over Phillies
Wong hit a two-run home run, his first of the year, in Monday's win over the Phillies. It was his lone hit in four at-bats.
Analysis:
Wong had yet to even hit a single extra-base hit this year. He struggled to hit for power in the second half last season, and dating back to the All-Star break, he had just two home runs and a .308 slugging percentage in his previous 295 at-bats. Wong's 2016 line is still a brutal .233/.304/.283, so he desperately needs this home run to spark a hot streak.
