Tigers' Jordan Zimmermann: AL Pitcher of the Month for April

Zimmermann was named the American League Pitcher of the Month for April after going 5-0 with a 0.55 ERA in five starts for the Tigers. He struck out 23 in 33 innings.

Analysis:

He's the first Tigers pitcher to earn the award since Justin Verlander won it in September 2012. Zimmermann's off to a fantastic start in Detroit after leaving the only franchise he'd ever known, although if we can pick a nit, it'd be nice to see him miss a few more bats.
