Kate Upton announces engagement to Verlander
Justin Verlander and Kate Upton are one step closer to tying the knot.
The model revealed at the 2016 Met Gala on Monday that the Detroit Tigers ace finally popped the question just prior to the current season.
"I'm really excited, he asked me right before season started so we've been keeping it on the down low for quite a while," she told E! News. "So I'm excited to finally be able to share it with the world!"

Upton, who also revealed a massive engagement ring while on the red carpet, says that there isn't any hurry to walk down the aisle.
"We are enjoying the engagement period," she said.
Perhaps the reveal can kick-start a turnaround in Verlander's season: The 33-year-old right-hander is 2-2 through five starts with a 5.46 ERA.
