Angels' Shane Robinson: Joins 25-man roster
Robinson's contract was purchased from Triple-A Salt Lake ahead of Sunday's game against the Rangers, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis:
It's not yet known what roster move the Angels will make to create a spot for Robinson, but the 31-year-old is in line to start in left field and bat eighth Sunday, according to Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Robinson, who was batting .306 with three stolen bases over 16 games at Triple-A Salt Lake, could push Rafael Ortega for playing time in left field while Daniel Nava (knee) and Craig Gentry (back) remain sidelined by injuries.
