Hunter Pence is known for his unorthodox way of doing things, and the San Francisco Giants' beloved right fielder did something extremely unusual Sunday at Citi Field.

He hit a home run off Noah Syndergaard.

In the fourth inning of Sunday's series finale in Queens, the sinewy 33-year-old stroked a 98-mph fastball from Syndergaard over the fence in right field for a two-run blast, affording the Giants a 3-0 lead on the first home run Syndergaard has allowed this year.

Syndergaard, who crafted a 1.69 ERA (0.77 FIP) through his first four outings of 2016, made it through 119 plate appearances this season before allowing his first homer, which, according to Statcast, had an exit velocity of 106 mph.
