Talk about a rough birthday.
Ron Washington, the Oakland A's third base coach who turned 64 on Friday, probably would've preferred to make it through his birthday without taking a line drive off his shin, but Billy Burns had to ruin that during their club's series opener against the Houston Astros.
Though Washington took a few moments to get back on his feet, he was able to stay in the game following an examination by a team trainer, and even received an ovation from the crowd for his toughness.
