The third inning Friday was a long one for the San Francisco Giants.

The New York Mets knocked out Giants starter Jake Peavy to the tune of six runs alone. But his reliever, Mike Broadway, didn't fare much better.

After giving up two runs of his own, Broadway was victimized by Mets slugger Yoenis Cespedes, who launched a grand slam for a club record 12-run inning. Cespedes also became the first player with a 6-RBI inning since Kendrys Morales in 2012.

The previous franchise record for runs in an inning was set July 16, 2006, when New York put up 11 runs against the Chicago Cubs.
