Phillips (hand) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Analysis:

Phillips was hit in the left hand by a pitch on Monday, and also fouled two balls off his left shin. Phillips underwent an X-ray on his left ring finger Monday night and the results came back negative. Despite this, Phillips potentially has swelling and soreness still effecting his hand. Ivan De Jesus will replace him at second base and bat seventh against Mets starting pitcher Bartolo Colon. Phillips is still considered day-to-day.
