Cueto blanks Padres, becomes 12th Dominican to 100 wins
Johnny Cueto reached an impressive milestone Tuesday night at AT&T Park, and the San Francisco Giants' newly signed right-hander did it in fashion.
In his fifth start with his new club, Cueto stymied the San Diego Padres over nine masterful innings, allowing just seven hits and one walk while fanning 11 en route to the seventh shutout and 100th victory of his career.
Cueto, who needed (and received) minimal supoort from his offense in the 1-0 victory - the Giants' third in their last four games - is now just the 12th Dominican-born pitcher in MLB history to reach 100 career wins.
