Blue Jays agree to minor-league deal with Ryan Lavarnway

The Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to a minor-league deal with catcher Ryan Lavarnway.
The 28-year-old should offer the organization depth and will debut with the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Friday.
Prior to his signing, the backstop spent parts of five big-league seasons with the Boston Red Sox and Atlanta Braves, slashing .198/.258/.316 with seven home runs, and 40 RBIs across his career.
Lavarnway was released by Atlanta on May. 14 after hitting .276/.336/.357 at Triple-A Gwinnett with 10 RBIs, and last appeared in the big leagues with the Braves in 2015.
