Growing up in Alabama, long before his name was decorated with honorifics like "two-time All-Star" and "reigning American League MVP," Josh Donaldson and his mom, Lisa, were "inseparable," he recalled last month, "kind of liv(ing) for one another."

So, on Sunday, with the Toronto Blue Jays handing out 20,000 bobbleheads of their beloved third baseman and presenting him with his 2015 Silver Slugger award, Lisa had to throw out the ceremonial first pitch in front of that sellout crowd at Rogers Centre.

The two shared a warm embrace after Lisa fired a strike to Josh, who, she said back in 2013, makes her "beam ear to ear every time (she) think(s) about him."
