Kevin Kiermaier will be monitored for the next 24 hours as the Tampa Bay Rays diagnosed him with a head contusion following a collision with Logan Forsythe in Friday's loss to the Chicago White Sox.

Kiermaier hasn't shown any concussion-like symptoms. Forsythe was diagnosed during the game with a bruised left leg and bruised left hip.

The duo went after a shallow fly ball off the bat of Avisail Garcia, and it appeared as though Forsythe's shoulder collided with Kiermaier's head.

Following the play, Kiermaier, the Gold Glove outfielder, remained on the ground for several minutes holding his head. He eventually left the field under his own power, but was accompanied by training staff. The severity of the injury is unclear. Forsythe got up instantly and began to limp away.

Brad Miller went into the game at shortstop, while Tim Beckham slid over to second to replace Forsythe. Corey Dickerson entered the game in right field, while Brandon Guyer moved to center to replace Kiermaier.
