Baltimore Orioles fans may not have been entirely receptive of Korean slugger Hyun Soo Kim at first, but the outfielder is quickly disproving those who doubted his place in the majors.

Kim, who rejected a minor-league assignment in the spring, grabbed his first major-league hit Sunday after running out an infield single that Tampa Bay Rays starter Jake Odorizzi couldn't handle cleanly.

The outfielder would grab another hit in the bottom of the seventh before being replaced by pinch runner Nolan Reimold, finishing 2-3 on the day.

Kim signed a two-year, $7-million deal with the Orioles in the offseason, and was greeted by a chorus of boos by Baltimore fans on Opening Day.
