Colorado dropped a 4-3 road decision to the Dodgers on Sunday, getting swept four straight over the weekend in Los Angeles, and losing its seventh straight road game in the process. The Rockies have played in just 31 games decided by a single run this year (12-19 record) -- fewest of any MLB club.

The Giants lost, 4-3, in San Diego on Sunday, splitting the four-game matchup, and dropping to 5-9 in their last 14 games. San Francisco is 28-27 in one-run affairs this season.

The Rockies and Giants have split 16 games this year, each winning eight times. Colorado has recorded 10 or more runs three times against San Francisco in 2016 -- most of any team in baseball.

German Marquez went 5.0 innings and allowed one run (earned) six days ago vs. the Cardinals, garnering his first win in his first career MLB start. Colorado's rookie hurlers have combined to win 20 games this season -- tied for third-most in the NL (Dodgers -- 30, Brewers -- 22).

Matt Moore recorded just three outs, allowing six runs (all earned) and taking the loss against the Dodgers in his last start on September 21. Moore is 0-1 with an 11.74 ERA in two career starts vs. the Rockies (both at Coors Field).

Nolan Arenado went 3-for-13 (.231) over the weekend vs. the Dodgers, including cracking his 40th homer of the season -- his second straight year with 40+ HR (had 42 last season). Arenado is batting .328 with five home runs and 22 RBI in 16 games against the Giants in 2016.

With three games left, manager Bruce Bochy's ballclub is sandwiched between the Mets and Cardinals in the race for the two NL wild-card spots with two games separating the three teams.
