The Dodgers beat the Rockies, 4-3, in 10 innings at home on Sunday, sweeping the four-game series, and winning their fifth contest in a row. Los Angeles is 16-7 (.696) this month -- second best in MLB (Boston -- 18-5, .783).

San Diego beat San Francisco, 4-3, at Petco Park on Sunday, splitting the four-game matchup over the weekend, and improving to 4-3 on the current homestand. The Padres are 18-30 (.375) in one-run affairs this year (worst in the NL).

The Dodgers are 10-6 against the Friars in 2016, including winning four of six meetings at Petco Park. Los Angeles has blanked San Diego four times this season -- tied for most of any team vs. any opponent (Baltimore has four shutouts vs. the Yankees).

Jose De Leon allowed six runs (four earned) in just 3.2 IP nine days ago against the D-backs, but the offense bailed him out, and he got a no-decision in his third career MLB outing. De Leon faced the Padres in his first career start, allowing four runs (three earned) in 6.0 innings, and garnering his first win as a major leaguer (September 4).

Paul Clemens went 5.2 innings and allowed two runs (both unearned) a week ago against the D-backs, garnering a no-decision for the effort. Clemens has not allowed an earned run in 10.2 IP -- the fifth-longest active streak among starting pitchers.

Corey Seager went 3-for-5 on Sunday with a triple, a homer and two RBI, snapping his three-game hitless streak, and 14-game homerless drought in the process. Seager is batting .253 and has just one long ball in 96 career plate appearances vs. the Padres.
