The Dodgers hold a one-game edge over the Rockies in their 2016 season series (8-7). That includes a mark of 4-2 at Dodger Stadium, where Los Angeles has gone 101-51 against Colorado since 2000.

The Rockies salvaged the final game of their series against the Cardinals by erupting for an 11-1 victory on Wednesday. It was the 19th time this season that Colorado reached double digits, one shy of Boston (20) for the most in the majors.

The Dodgers extended their lead in the NL West to 6.0 games after taking two of three games from the Giants. The Dodgers' magic number for winning their fourth straight division title has been reduced to five games.

Nolan Arenado smacked a grand slam on Wednesday, as he raised his MLB-leading RBI total to 128, two shy of his MLB-leading 130 RBI in 2015. Arenado's homer was his 39th of the season, keeping him one ahead of Kris Bryant (38) for the National League lead.

While Tyler Chatwood has compiled a hideous 6.12 ERA when working at Coors Field, his 1.77 ERA on the road is the best in the majors (minimum 10 starts). Chatwood's .274 opponent slugging percentage on the road also tops MLB, helping him to a 7-1 record away from home.

Injuries have limited Brett Anderson to two starts in 2016, both of which occurred in August and didn't end well. He allowed 11 runs over 4.0 innings (24.75) while surrendering 14 hits in 24 at-bats (.583) and an opponent slugging percentage of 1.042.

Scully, the Hall of Fame broadcaster, works the final home game of his legendary career Sunday when Los Angeles can clinch the National League West title when it hosts the Colorado Rockies to cap a four-game series.

LOS ANGELES (AP)  Sprayed champagne and beer flooded the blue carpet in the Dodgers clubhouse. The stench of alcohol hung in the damp air. Wives, kids and a puppy were in on the party with music blaring.
The Los Angeles Dodgers celebrated clinching their fourth straight NL West title with the kind of storybook ending this city was built on: winning the crown in Vin Scully's final home game when Charlie Culberson homered with two outs in the 10th inning to beat the Colorado Rockies 4-3 Sunday.
