The Reds lost, 9-2, to the Cubs on Wednesday night, getting swept three straight at Wrigley Field, and suffering their seventh setback in the last eight games overall. Cincinnati has been swept seven times on the road this year -- tied for second most of any MLB team (Twins -- 10).

Milwaukee beat Pittsburgh, 3-1, at Miller Park last night, salvaging one win in the three-game matchup, and improving to 4-3 in its last seven home games. The Brewers have allowed one run or fewer eight times in their last 21 contests -- most of any team in the majors since August 31.

The Reds took two of three from the Brewers at Great American Ball Park last week, and lead the season series 9-7 overall. Dating to August 30, 2015, these clubs have split their last 10 games at Miller Park, each recording exactly 98 hits in those contests.

Anthony DeSclafani allowed six runs (four earned) in just 4.0 IP six days ago vs. the Pirates, taking the loss, and dropping to 0-2 with a 4.24 ERA in three starts this month. DeSclafani is 1-1 with a 2.92 ERA in two career starts against the Brewers at Miller Park.

Zach Davies went 5.0 innings and allowed three runs (all earned) against the Cubs last Saturday, earning the victory, and garnering his team-best 11th win of the season. Davies is 1-1 with a 3.57 ERA in three starts vs. the Reds in 2016.

Chris Carter blasted his 37th homer of the season last night, and now has gone deep three times in his last five games overall. Carter has just two home runs in 19 career games (82 plate appearances) vs. the Reds.

Straily pitched into the seventh inning and Joey Votto hit a two-run homer to lift the Cincinnati Reds to a 6-1 victory over the Brewers on Saturday night.
