The Marlins lost, 3-1, at home to the Padres yesterday, dropping two of three over the weekend, and finishing up a six-game homestand with a mark of 2-4. Miami has scored one run or fewer nine times since the 2016 All-Star break -- tied for second most in the NL.

New York lost, 5-1, to the Phillies at Citi Field on Sunday, snapping its three-game win streak in the process. The Mets have scored one run or fewer on 28 occasions in 2016 -- tied for second most in the majors.

After Kelly Johnson's three-run double in the eighth inning broke a tie and lifted the Mets to a 5-2 win over the Miami Marlins on Wednesday night, manager Terry Collins announced that second baseman Neil Walker would probably have season-ending surgery on a herniated disc in his back.
