The Twins are 8-5 against the Indians this season and 20-12 versus Cleveland over the past two years combined. The 20 victories are Minnesota's most against any single opponent since the beginning of 2015.

The Twins dropped their 10th straight game on Sunday, one shy of the longest losing streak by any team in 2016 (11 straight losses by the Reds, Rays and Angels). The last time Minnesota lost 11 in a row in a single season was in September 2011.

The Indians have been limited to one run or fewer in six of their last seven games. The lone exception was when Cleveland exploded for 12 runs against the Rangers on Friday. The Indians still lead the AL Central by 4.5 games despite being two games below .500 (24-26) since July 2.

With a double on Sunday, Brian Dozier has hit in 32 of his past 35 games. Since July 22, Dozier leads the American League with 14 doubles, 14 homers, 34 runs scored and 50 hits (tied with Mookie Betts). Dozier is the first Twins second baseman to ever combine at least 30 doubles and 30 homers in a single season.

Since joining the Twins at the trade deadline this month, Hector Santiago has compiled a 10.89 ERA through four starts. It's the highest mark through any pitcher's first four starts with the Twins since Travis Miller compiled a 14.29 ERA in 1996 (relief appearances disregarded).

Trevor Bauer has won just one of 10 career starts versus Minnesota, going 1-5 with a 5.86 ERA. The five losses are Bauer's most versus any opponent. The last time he faced the Twins on August 3, Bauer surrendered eight runs, a career high.

CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Indians attempt to complete a three-game sweep of Minnesota on Wednesday while handing the Twins their 13th straigth loss.
The first two contests were one-run games with Cleveland winning 1-0 in 10 innings on Monday and 5-4 on Tuesday.
