Oakland defeated division-rival Texas, 6-4, on Wednesday for its fifth win in its past six games. Since the All-Star break, the A's are tied with the Angels for best record in the American League at 9-4.

The Indians lost to the Nationals on Wednesday, 4-1, to split the two-game series. Since their 14-game winning streak ended on July 2, the Indians are just 8-12.

These two franchises are meeting for the first time this season. The Indians are just 1-5 at home against the A's since 2014.

Kendall Graveman picked up a win last Saturday against the Rays, allowing three earned runs over 9.0 innings, his first career nine-inning complete game (had eight-inning complete game on June 13, 2015 vs. Angels). Over his past four starts, Graveman is 4-0 with a 2.35 ERA.

Trevor Bauer received his fourth loss of the season last Friday when he allowed five runs over just 4.0 innings in Baltimore. In that start, Bauer allowed multiple home runs for the first time since August 13, 2015 against the Yankees.

Since the All-Star break, Khris Davis is batting .304. His six home runs, 12 RBI, and 1.121 OPS all lead left fielders in that span (min 47 PA as left fielder for OPS).

CLEVELAND -- With both teams nervously wondering if their teams will make any moves prior to Monday's trade deadline, the Cleveland Indians and Oakland Athletics meet Saturday night at Progressive Field for the second contest of their three-game series.
Cleveland won the first game Friday, coming back from a 3-0 deficit to win 5-3. The Indians and A's have been subject to lots of trade speculation, and the A's speculation took a dramatic turn Friday, when it was announced that left-hander Rich Hill will not make his scheduled start Sunday.

The Indians answered Butler's flip after his game-tying home run in the fourth with a four-run inning that propelled Cleveland to a 6-3 win over the Oakland Athletics.
