The Orioles and Blue Jays have split the season series so far, with each team winning five of the 10 games. Both teams have hit a home run in each of the last six games played in the series, tied for the second-longest streak between Baltimore and Toronto all-time (had a seven-game streak in 1995).

The Orioles lost at Minnesota, 6-2, on Thursday, extending their losing streak to three games. Baltimore recorded 11 hits in the game, its most hits in a loss since totaling 12 hits in a 9-4 loss as Seattle on July 3.

The Blue Jays dropped the final game of their three-game series versus the Padres, 8-4, at home on Wednesday. Toronto allowed eight runs in the game despite giving up just six hits, the third time this season that the Blue Jays have allowed more runs than hits in a game (also June 21 versus Arizona and May 21 at Minnesota); Toronto lost all three games.

Manny Machado has hit safely in eight of his nine games played versus Toronto this season, recording multiple hits in each of the eight games. Machado's eight multi-hit games versus the Blue Jays are tied for the most by any player versus any opponent this season (also Daniel Murphy versus the Mets and Anthony Rizzo versus the Pirates).

TORONTO (AP)  Marco Estrada is still dealing with the sore back that forced him to skip his first All-Star Game. Even so, he was effective enough for the Toronto Blue Jays.
Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion and Troy Tulowitzki hit solo home runs in the first inning, Estrada snapped a four-start winless streak and Toronto beat the Baltimore Orioles 6-5 on Friday night.
