The Twins defeated the Tigers on Wednesday, 4-1, to win the series two games to one. In the month of July, Minnesota is 10-6, outscoring its opponents 96-56 in that span.

Boston defeated San Francisco, 11-7, on Wednesday to sweep the two-game series. The Red Sox are now 10-2 over their past 12 games, which is their best 12-game stretch since September 3-15, 2013.

The Red Sox took two of three in Minnesota in June, outscoring them 27-12 during the series. The Red Sox are an even 9-9 against the AL central this season, while the Twins are just 5-18 versus the AL East.

Tyler Duffey did not receive a decision in a 5-4 win over the Indians on Saturday when he gave up four earned runs over 6.1 innings. Duffey is 3-0 with a 3.08 ERA over his past four starts, and the Twins are undefeated over his past five.

Steven Wright picked up his 11th win of the season last Friday, giving up three runs on just three hits over six innings at Yankee Stadium. Wright last faced the Twins on June 10th of this year, not allowing an earned run over 7.1 innings in a winning effort.

Against the Giants on Wednesday, Hanley Ramirez went 3-for-4 with three home runs, his first career three-homer game. It was the first three home run game by a Red Sox player at Fenway Park since Kevin Millar in 2004 (July 23, 2004 vs. NYY).
