The Mariners beat the White Sox, 6-5, in 11 innings on Wednesday on Leonys Martin's walkoff homer. It was their sixth walkoff win on the year, tied for third most in MLB behind only Houston (8) and San Francisco (7).

Toronto completed a two-game sweep of Arizona on Wednesday with a 10-4 victory at Chase Field. Since July 2, the Blue Jays are tied with the Red Sox at 11-3, best in MLB.

These two teams are meeting for the first time this season, with the Mariners taking four of six in 2015. The Blue Jays are 7-6 against the AL West this season, while the Mariners are 13-6 versus the AL East.

James Paxton received his fourth loss of the year last Friday, allowing six runs on nine hits over five innings. His one strikeout in the start marked the first time he had one or fewer strikeouts in a game since September 24, 2015 against the Royals.

Marco Estrada will be making his first start since July 2 due to a back injury. In two starts against the Mariners last season, Estrada went 0-2 with a 7.36 ERA.

Over his past six games, Josh Donaldson is hitting .400 with two home runs, 10 RBI, and a 1.203 OPS. Donaldson has multiple base hits in three consecutive games, his third such streak this season.
