The Orioles and Padres will meet for the 16th time all-time (Baltimore leads 8-7), and the ninth time in San Diego (Baltimore leads 5-3). The Orioles have hit multiple home runs in each of their last three games against the Padres, and have averaged 8.00 runs per game over that span.

With its win Sunday over the Rays, Baltimore is now 15 games over .500, the first time the Orioles have been at least 15 games over .500 June 26 or earlier in a season since the 1997 season.

And not just because the AL East-leading Orioles are seeking their seventh straight victory.

SAN DIEGO (AP)  Mark Trumbo's magnificent two-run home run into the second deck in left field was the 55th of the month for the Baltimore Orioles, tying the big league record for long balls in June.
''Some guys are aware of it, some aren't,'' Trumbo said after the Orioles routed the San Diego Padres for the second straight game, 12-6 on Wednesday. ''It's a special thing but it's not something anyone's going to gloat about or spend too much time thinking about. It just goes to show we're on a nice little run.''
