The last time the Rangers visited Yankee Stadium in May 2015, Texas scoring 30 runs while taking all three games, sweeping a three-game road series against the Yankees for only the second time in franchise history (also May 1983).

By winning their last two games at Fenway Park this weekend, the Rangers went 2-1 against Boston and improved their series record to 19-4-2 in 2016, the highest such percentage (.800) in the majors.

The Yankees surrendered six home runs to Minnesota on Sunday, something they hadn't done in over three years (six at Baltimore on 9/6/2012). New York has allowed 95 homers in 2016, the ninth most in MLB, and has hit 19 fewer than its opponents (76-95).

Ian Desmond remained hot by going 6-for-13 versus Boston this weekend. He's now batting .378 since May 14, the second-highest mark in MLB over that span (minimum 100 PA). For the season overall, Desmond is batting .397 with runners on base.

Chi Chi Gonzalez is expected to make his first start of 2016 for the Rangers after going 4-6 with a 3.90 ERA for Texas as a rookie last season. Gonzalez was 3-6 with a 5.04 ERA over 14 starts at Triple-A this year.

Ivan Nova's ERA is over three runs lower when working at Yankee Stadium this season (3.63) than it is on the road (6.98). On the other hand, Nova's ERA is 7.47 over three career starts versus the Rangers at home, compared to just 3.09 at Texas.
