The Nationals and Brewers are meeting for the first time this year. Washington has won the season series each of the past four seasons (2012-15), including a 4-3 edge in 2015.

Washington has lost a season-high five straight games, scoring three or fewer runs in all five losses (2.4 per game). The Nationals are 35-6 (.854) when scoring four or more runs, second best in the majors (Cubs: 43-3, .935).

Milwaukee is 10 games under .500 on the road this season (13-23, .361), versus two games over at home (19-17, .528). That's the largest win percentage difference by any NL team between home and road (where home is better).

Jonathan Villar currently leads the majors with 25 stolen bases, four more than Cleveland's Rajai Davis. Friday starters Zach Davies and Max Scherzer are both 3-0 with sub-1.50 ERAs in four June starts (Davies 0.96, Scherzer 1.29). Scherzer has struck out 10 or more batters in five of his last eight outings, and his 31 10-strikeout games since the start of the 2013 season rank second only to Clayton Kershaw in the majors (33).

MILWAUKEE -- The Washington Nationals will try to end their 10-game road trip on a high note and look to snap a seven-game losing streak Sunday afternoon when they wrap up a three-game series with the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park.
They'll have to do it, though, without right-hander Stephen Strasburg, who will miss his second consecutive start with tightness in his upper back.

MILWAUKEE (AP)  Tanner Roark did a stellar job in taking the place of Stephen Strasburg.
Roark, called on to replace the Nationals' injured ace, held the Brewers without a run over seven innings and Washington ended a seven-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday.
