The Indians defeated the Rays, 6-1, on Wednesday, extending their winning streak to six games (tied for their longest win streak on the year; also June 1-6). Since June 17, the Indians have scored 38 runs, tied with Minnesota for most in the American League.

The Tigers completed a four-game sweep of the Mariners with a 5-4 walkoff victory on Thursday. It marked their first four-game sweep of any team since they swept the Indians at Cleveland from August 5-8, 2013.

Detroit is winless in six games against Cleveland thus far this season, scoring just 12 runs over those six games. The Tigers are just 2-11 over their last 13 games versus the Indians, dating back to June 24, 2015.

Danny Salazar fanned seven over 6.2 innings last Saturday, picking up his fourth straight win. Since the start of June, Salazar is 3-0 with a 1.77 ERA and 24 strikeouts. However, his 4.55 career ERA versus Detroit is his worst against any team he has faced at least three times.

Jordan Zimmermann gave up just one earned run over eight innings on Sunday at Kansas City, though the Tigers still lost, 2-1. Since returning from a groin injury on June 3, Zimmermann has a 4.97 ERA (2.52 prior to the injury). This will be Zimmermann's first start versus the Indians since 2013 (6 ER over 5.0 IP on June 15, 2013).

Rajai Davis is currently on a five-game hitting streak during which he has hit .444 (8-for-18). Davis has also stolen six bases during the streak, his most in a five-game span since totaling seven from July 28 -- August 5, 2013.
