The Twins lost, 7-3, to the Phillies on Thursday, snapping a three-game winning streak and ending a seven-game homestand during which they went 3-4. Minnesota has lost five of its last six road contests.

The Yankees picked up a 9-8 walkoff win over the Rockies on Wednesday, splitting the two-game series one win apiece. Starlin Castro's walkoff blast was the first walkoff homer of his career and the Yankees' second on the year (also Brett Garner on April 23 versus Tampa Bay).

These two AL teams are meeting for the second time this season, with New York taking three of four in Minnesota earlier this month. The Twins are just 8-19 in the new Yankee Stadium, including three playoff losses (2009 and 2010 ALDS).

Tommy Milone, who is scheduled to start after getting called up last week, fanned eight over seven scoreless innings for the Rochester Twins in his most recent start. Before being demoted to AAA in early May, Milone held a 0-1 record and 5.79 ERA through four starts and one relief appearance, but went 4-0 with a 1.66 ERA in the minors since then.

Masahiro Tanaka went 8.0 innings and allowed just one earned run last Friday against the Twins, earning a win for the first time in his last four starts. Tanaka has pitched at least five innings in every start this season, and hasn't pitched fewer than five innings in a start since Opening Day 2015 versus Toronto (4.0 innings).

Brian Dozier is batting .400 (10-for-25) during his current six-game hitting streak, including two triples (his first triples since August 2015 versus Houston).
