The Mets took both games from the Royals this week, winning Tuesday's tilt, 2-1, and coming from behind in Wednesday's 4-3 victory. New York is now 15-9 (.625) in one-run games this season, good for third in the NL behind the Phillies and Giants.

The Braves saw their season-high six-game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday with a 3-0 loss in Miami. It was the eighth time Atlanta has been shut out on the season, second in the majors behind the Padres with 10.

Asdrubal Cabrera homered for the second straight day, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI in Wednesday's win over Kansas City. It marked the first time Cabrera hit a home run on consecutive days since May 8-9, 2014.

Freddie Freeman is batting .378 (14/37) in nine meetings with the Mets this season. Freeman's seven doubles against New York trails only Gerardo Parra's nine versus Arizona for the most against one opponent in 2016.

ATLANTA -- It might appear that Atlanta Braves starter Julio Teheran is being showcased in every appearance he makes. There is little doubt that the Braves' No. 1 starter is one of the team's most valuable bargaining chips, should they decide to make a move before the trade deadline.
But that isn't going to happen, Atlanta general manager John Coppolella said Friday.
