Philadelphia has won four straight games over Washington, one in Philadelphia and three at Nationals Park. In those four games, the Phils outscored the Nats by an 8-1 margin in the seventh inning and later, and the Phillies' bullpen posted a 0.82 ERA (one earned run in 11.0 innings).

The Phillies hit .133 (2-for-15) with men in scoring position in getting swept in a three-game series at Wrigley Field over the weekend; they have no hits in their last nine at-bats with RISP, dating back to Friday's seventh inning. Philly's .222 mark with runners in scoring position in 2016 ranks 28th in MLB, ahead of only the Mets' .213 average and the Yankees' .214 mark.

A win on Monday would give Washington its first back-to-back wins since a three-game win streak from May 18 through May 20. Beginning on May 21, the Nats are 0-4 in games following a win, and have been outscored, 18-5, in those four defeats.

Daniel Murphy has 97 hits against the Phillies since the start of the 2012 season (97-for-316, .307), most by any Philadelphia opponent over that span. Murphy has 128 hits against the Phils in his career; since 2008, the only Phillie opponent with more is David Wright, at 155.

The Phillies' Cesar Hernandez and Maikel Franco have had their problems at Citizens Bank Park in 2016. Hernandez's .200 slugging percentage at home is the lowest mark in MLB (minimum 75 plate appearances at home); he is hitting .171 in Philly and .315 on the road. Franco is hitting .289 with seven homers on the road, compared to only .212 with one round-tripper at home.

Tanner Roark's ERA has dropped 1.67 from a year ago, from 4.38 to 2.71. Among pitchers who worked at least 100 innings in 2015 and have pitched at least 50 innings in 2016, he has the third-largest decrease in ERA, behind Jeff Samardzija's 2.42 and Chris Tillman's 2.07.

Citizens Bank Park might not seem like a good place for Max Scherzer to forget his troubles with the long ball. Yet, he always dominates the Philadelphia Phillies regardless of venue, and they haven't shown much power in their hitter-friendly park.
The Washington Nationals sure have, in particular Bryce Harper, but there's a good chance he will remain in the dugout Wednesday night when Scherzer looks to pitch them to a three-game sweep.

PHILADELPHIA (AP)  Daniel Murphy delivered another big hit with the game on the line after teammate Bryce Harper left with an injured knee.
Murphy hit a solo homer and tiebreaking two-run single, Tanner Roark threw seven sharp innings and the Washington Nationals held on for a 4-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday night.
