The Orioles went 5-1 versus the Indians last season, winning each of the last four games of the season series. Baltimore has not won five or more consecutive games versus Cleveland since winning five straight from July 28, 1988 -- May 18, 1989.

The Orioles lost to the Astros, 4-2, in Houston on Thursday, extending their active losing streak to four games (Baltimore's longest losing streak of the season). The Orioles have now scored three runs or fewer in each of their last five games after doing so in just five of their previous 16 games played.

The Indians beat the White Sox, 4-3, in Chicago on Wednesday to extend their win streak to three games. Cleveland, who failed to hit a home run in the game, now has 10 wins when failing to hit a home run, second most in MLB (San Francisco -- 11). Cleveland's .588 win percentage (10-7) when failing to hit a home run is the highest in MLB.

Manny Machado currently ranks second in MLB with 30 extra-base hits (Boston's David Ortiz has 35). Machado's 30 extra-base hits through 45 team games are the most by an Orioles player in the last 100 seasons (since 1917).

The Orioles have won each of Mike Wright's last two starts, the first time since Wright joined MLB last season that Baltimore has won consecutive starts by Wright. The Orioles gave Wright exactly four runs of support in each of those two starts; over his career as a starter, the Orioles are 6-2 when they give Wright at least two runs of support and just 1-7 when they fail to give Wright at least two runs of support.

Trevor Bauer allowed four runs in five innings while failing to strike out a batter and earning the loss in his last start on May 21 at Boston, his second career start without a strikeout (also June 28, 2013 at the Chicago White Sox, when he pitched just 0.2 innings). In his first four starts this season, Bauer struck out 23 batters in 23.1 innings pitched.

CLEVELAND (AP)  Orioles manager Buck Showalter decided it was time for a change, and it helped Baltimore break a four-game losing streak.
After watching his team score nine runs in its longest skid of the season, Showalter's lineup tweak paid off in a 6-4 victory over the Cleveland Indians on Friday night.
