Kansas City has won two of three games against the White Sox this year, and has won the season series between the teams each year since 2011. The Royals are 60-36 (.625) in the series since that year.

The Royals scored 22 runs on 41 hits in winning two of three games against Minnesota this week, both season highs for them in a series (any length). They have won four consecutive series, taking two of three games in all four.

The White Sox lost the final three games of a four-game series with the Indians this week, and now lead the AL Central by just 0.5 games over Cleveland. Chicago has been in first place of the division every day since the morning of April 23.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP)  While the Chicago White Sox game at Kansas City was postponed because of rain Thursday night, the Royals are looking on how to fill the gap of possibly losing All-Star third baseman Mike Moustakas for the season to a knee injury.
No makeup date was announced, but it will not be rescheduled as part of this series.
