San Francisco owns an eight-game winning streak against San Diego at home dating back to last season. That is the Giants' longest home winning streak against the Padres since winning nine straight from 2008 to 2009.

The Giants wrapped up a series victory against the Cubs Sunday with a 1-0 win in the rubber match. It was the second time the Giants have won when scoring just one run this season (also: April 26 vs. San Diego).

While the San Diego Padres' James Shields has pitched much better than his record indicates, Jake Peavy of the San Francisco Giants is deserving of his poor mark.
Peavy is the only Giants pitcher to lose in the last two weeks but will try to help them stay hot Wednesday with a sweep over his former team.
