The Mets and Nationals will meet for their second series of the season tonight, with the Nationals taking two of three in the previous set from May 17-19. The Nationals have held the Mets to two or fewer runs in six straight games, tied for the longest active streak by a team against an opponent (also Dodgers vs. Cubs).

The Mets swept the Brewers in three games in their previous series, the team's third sweep of the season. However, the Mets have averaged just 2.86 runs per game since the beginning of May, the lowest in the league since then (all other teams have averaged at least 3.0 runs per game).

Michael Conforto went 1-for-3 with a walk and home run yesterday against the Brewers, and finished the three-game series 4-for-10 with two home runs and three RBI. However, Conforto has hit just .167 (4-for-24) in eight career games against the Nationals.

Over his last three games, Ben Revere has hit .500 (7-for-14) with three runs and two stolen bases. In his 11 prior games since returning from the DL, Revere had hit just .100 (5-for-50) with three runs and no stolen bases.

Over his last six starts against the Mets, Gio Gonzalez is 4-0 (1.000) with a 0.97 ERA, and hasn't allowed more than two earned runs in any of those starts.

Bartolo Colon will make his second consecutive start against Washington tonight after walking five Nationals hitters on May 18, his most in a game since also walking five on April 26, 2005 against the Yankees.

WASHINGTON (AP)  As an unbeaten pitcher for a first-place team, Stephen Strasburg is at the top of his game.
Given where he was a year ago, perhaps the Nationals' star can serve as a positive example for struggling Matt Harvey of the New York Mets.
