Colorado won two of three games versus the Giants when these teams met for a series last month at Coors Field, including 10-6 and 11-6 wins on April 13-14. It was the Giants' first time allowing double-digit runs in back-to-back games since August 21-22, 2013.

The Rockies are three games over .500 on the road this season (9-6), versus four games under at home (4-8). While Colorado has an MLB-worst 7.22 home ERA, their 3.34 road ERA is 10th best in the majors.

Buster Posey's .364 career batting average versus the Rockies (115/316) ranks third among active players (minimum 150 PA). The two players with better averages are Miguel Cabrera (.411) and Matt Holliday (.397).

Matt Cain is winless in his last 12 starts going back to last July, with an 0-6 record and 6.75 ERA over that span. The only other Giants pitcher in the last 20 years to go 12 or more straight starts without a win was Barry Zito in 2013 (13 straight).

While Trevor Story is tied for second in the majors with 10 home runs, he has struck out an MLB-high 42 times. He has at least one strikeout in 22 straight games, the second-longest streak in team history (Brad Hawpe, 26 in 2007).

Rockies-Giants Preview

SAN FRANCISCO (AP)  Madison Bumgarner quickly forgot about a rough inning and returned to throwing quality strikes. It also helped that Brandon Crawford tossed some momentum his way.
Crawford hit a three-run homer, Bumgarner survived a shaky second inning and the San Francisco Giants ended a three-game losing streak to Colorado, beating the Rockies 6-4 on Friday night.
