Detroit is 21-8 (.724) on the road against Cleveland over the last three seasons, winning seven of the nine series. That is the Tigers' best winning percentage against an AL opponent on the road over that span.

The Tigers beat the Twins Sunday, 6-5, to complete the sweep in Minnesota. Detroit has hit at least one home run in every game of their five-game win streak and own an AL-best 13-4 record when hitting at least one home run.

Cleveland was swept at Philadelphia over the weekend, including a 2-1 loss Sunday. It is the Indians' first three-game losing streak of the season, and Cleveland has won just one of their six games since sweeping the Tigers.

Carlos Santana homered for the Indians Sunday, his fourth of the season. He leads the team with an .808 OPS despite ranking seventh with a .244 batting average.

Anibal Sanchez has lost each of his last three starts against the Indians, posting an 8.10 ERA in 13.1 innings (12 earned runs). Prior to those starts, he had a 4-1 record and 2.20 ERA in his first seven career starts against Cleveland.

Corey Kluber owns a career 4.37 ERA against the Tigers, his worst mark against a divisional opponent. Nine of his 13 career games against Detroit have been quality starts, but he has been credited with the win in only three of those.

CLEVELAND (AP)  Corey Kluber gave the Detroit Tigers two chances. Then he looked like a Cy Young Award winner.
Kluber pitched a five-hit shutout and the Cleveland Indians used a four-run fourth inning to defeat Detroit for the fifth straight time this season, 4-0 on Wednesday night.
