This will be the third time in history that the Indians will face the Phillies in Philadelphia, going 0-3 in 2010 and 1-1 in 2013. Cleveland went 12-8 in interleague play in 2015 while Philadelphia went 8-12.

The Phillies have thrown back-to-back shutouts for the first time since August 13-16, 1969, when they threw four consecutive shutouts.

When Jason Kipnis went 0-for-4 against the Mets on April 17, it snapped his 11-game hitting streak in interleague play. Still, Kipnis is batting .412 (21/51) in IL play since last July 5.

Maikel Franco is batting .409 (9/22) with 10 runs batted in with runners in scoring position this season. He hit .260 with RISP in 2015.

Corey Kluber is 3-1 with a 2.06 (8/35.0) ERA in five career road interleague starts, walking three batters while striking out 34 in 35.0 IP. He has not allowed a home run in his last 62.1 IP in IL play, a streak that dates back to the fourth inning of a May 30, 2014 outing versus the Rockies.

Adam Morgan is scheduled to make his MLB season debut on Friday. The lefty went 5-7 for the Phillies as a rookie in 2015, but lost his last three starts. He started 2016 in the minors, going 1-1 with a 3.57 ERA for Triple-A affiliate Lehigh Valley, striking out 20 in 17.2 IP.

Danny Salazar's opponent batting average is the best in baseball, yet his opponent on-base percentage still trails the next pitcher he'll face by nearly 40 points.
Vince Velasquez has also been tough to hit and done so with a reasonable level of control, something Salazar will try to emulate Sunday to deny the streaking Philadelphia Phillies a three-game home sweep of his Cleveland Indians.
