This series shifts to Boston for two days after the Red Sox picked up wins in Atlanta on Monday (1-0) and Tuesday (11-4). Boston has won 10 of the last 12 games in the series going back to June 2012.

The Braves have lost seven in a row overall to fall to 4-16 on the season, tied for the worst 20-game start in franchise history (ignoring ties); they were also 4-16 in 1914 (as the Boston Braves) and 1988. Atlanta has gone without a home run in its last 15 contests, the franchise's longest such drought since a 16-gamer in 1946 (also as the Boston Braves).

Boston's 11 runs Tuesday were a season high. The Red Sox lead the American League with 5.1 runs per game for the season, while also ranking first in the AL with a .276 team batting average.
