The Cubs were 14-5 versus Milwaukee in 2015, producing their most wins and highest winning percentage (.737) ever in the all-time series. After dropping four of the first six meetings with the Brewers last year, the Cubs went 12-1 against Milwaukee from July 30 to the end of the season.

The Brewers stopped a three-game losing streak when they salvaged the finale of their three-game set with Philadelphia this weekend. Milwaukee is 4-3 in series closers in 2016, compared to 4-8 otherwise.

The Cubs scored 38 runs while taking three of four games at Cincinnati this past weekend. It was the most runs the Cubs had scored in any series since generating 40 runs over a four-game set against the Reds at Wrigley Field between April 14 and April 17 in 2003.

Jimmy Nelson has won his past three starts, matching the longest streak of his career (6/24/2015 -- 7/4/2015). He is still searching for his first career victory versus the Cubs, against whom Nelson is 0-3 with a 3.60 ERA over seven appearances (five starts).
