The Phillies lost, 9-4, at home to the Padres yesterday, and have now dropped five of seven, allowing at least nine runs in four of those setbacks. Philadelphia has allowed 9+ runs 21 times in 2015 overall -- second most of any MLB club (Rockies- 23).

The Mets beat the Red Sox, 9-5, yesterday at Citi Field, snapping their season-long five-game home losing streak in the process. New York has scored at least nine runs seven times this month -- most of any NL club.

The Mets have defeated the Phillies nine straight times, outscoring Philadelphia by a combined 68-34 during the win streak. Dating to August 31 last season, New York has taken each of the last seven meetings with the Phillies at Citi Field.

Jerad Eickhoff went 6.0 innings and allowed four runs (three earned) vs. the Mets last Wednesday, losing his first career MLB game since being called up August 21. Bartolo Colon made his first relief appearance since 2011 on Saturday against the Red Sox, striking out two and walking none in 1.0 IP (0 ER). Including a mark of 3-0 this season, Colon is 6-1 with a 3.26 ERA in seven starts against the Phillies since the beginning of 2014.

David Wright went 1-for-3 yesterday, and is now batting .304 (7-for-23) in five games since returning from injury on August 24. Wright has exactly 200 career hits vs. the Phillies -- most of any active player.
