The Diamondbacks are 8-4 against the Rockies this season, improving to 83-57 versus Colorado since 2008. It's Arizona's highest winning percentage (.593) against any current National League opponent over that span.

Arizona has dropped six of its last seven games to fall four games below .500 (63-67) for the first time since July 27. The Diamondbacks are now 9.5 games behind the Dodgers in the NL West, as well as 11.5 games back in the race for the second wild-card spot.

The Rockies salvaged their finale at Pittsburgh on Sunday by shutting out the Pirates, 5-0. Over their last eight series (since August 3), Colorado is 6-2 (.750) in final game of series, compared to 2-15 (.118) in all other contests.

David Peralta had three hits on Sunday, including a first-inning single with two outs. He's now batting .373 with two outs this season, the third-highest rate in the National League (minimum 0.93 PA per team game). But Peralta is batting just .262 with fewer than two outs.

Although Robbie Ray has lost all five of his starts in August, he hasn't been helped by just two total runs of support and the weakest run support average among pitchers who've made at least three starts this month (0.74 per nine innings).

Chad Bettis will be working on exactly five days of rest on Monday. But so far this season, Bettis has compiled a 3.16 ERA when having four or fewer days between starts, as opposed to a mark of 7.36 when starting on five or more.

DENVER (AP)  The Colorado Rockies struggled to get the big hit with runners on base all game. Down to their last outs, they finally came through.
Pinch-hitter Ben Paulsen hit a two-out, two-run single and the Rockies rallied for four runs in the bottom of the ninth to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-4 on Monday night.
