This is the second-latest date in any season that the Indians and Angels have met for the first time (August 9, 2013). The Angels outscored the Indians, 46-23, while taking five of seven games in their 2014 season series.

The Indians split their series at Oakland when they lost the last two games while scoring a single run in each. Those were the 26th and 27th times this season that Cleveland was limited to one run or fewer, the most such games by any offense.

The Angels produced an 0-6 road trip by losing three times at Houston and then three more times against the Dodgers. It is just the third winless road trip consisting of at least six games in franchise history.

Corey Kluber allowed just one run while tossing his second complete game of the season last Wednesday. Since 2013, Kluber is 15-4 with a 2.60 ERA when pitching after the All-Star break (20-21, 3.38 before the break).

Garrett Richards' batting average allowed is 113 points lower at Angel Stadium (.175) than it is on the road (.288). His mark at home is the third lowest in MLB (minimum 1.54 batters faced per team game).

Kole Calhoun went 5-for-8 with four runs scored in the series against the Dodgers this weekend. He's now batting .340 since July 3. Calhoun's 12 multi-hit games over that span are tied for the fourth most in MLB.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP)  For the third time in four days, the Los Angeles Angels faced a Cy Young award winner. Unlike Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw in their series with the Dodgers, they found many of Corey Kluber's pitches quite hittable.
Conor Gillaspie slugged a go-ahead home run off the Cleveland Indians' right-hander, and Los Angeles snapped a six-game losing streak with a 5-4 victory on Monday night.
