The Giants are 12-3 versus the Rangers since 2000 but lost their last series played against Texas two games to one (June 8-10, 2012). The series loss was San Francisco's second versus the Rangers all-time, with their only other series loss against the Rangers coming at Texas from July 18-20, 1999 (swept in three-game series). San Francisco is 16-9 all-time versus Texas.

The Giants beat the Brewers, 5-0, on Wednesday and are now 10-2 since the All-Star break, tied with the Phillies for the highest win percentage by any team. Since the break, San Francisco has outscored its opponents by 28 runs (60-32), tied with the Astros for the largest differential in MLB.

The Rangers scored three runs in the first inning of their 7-6 win over the Yankees on Thursday. In 13 games following the All-Star break, Texas has scored 13 first-inning runs, third most in MLB behind the White Sox (18) and Royals (17).

The Giants are 26-8 when Hunter Pence is in the starting lineup this season and just 30-37 when his is not. Pence had an RBI in San Francisco's win on Wednesday; the Giants are now 16-2 this season when Pence has at least one RBI and have one each of their last eight games in which Pence has recorded one or more RBI.

In his last start in interleague play (July 25, 2015 versus Oakland), Madison Bumgarner pitched seven innings and allowed just one run. Since 2011, Bumgarner has totaled six starts with at least seven innings pitched and one or fewer runs allowed in interleague play; the only player with more such starts in interleague play over that span is Felix Hernandez (10).

Through his first 10 starts of 2015, Nick Martinez went 4-1 and posted a 2.03 ERA, with the Rangers going 8-2 over the 10 starts. However, since June 1, Martinez is 1-5 with a 6.95 ERA, and the Rangers have gone 1-7 over the eight starts.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP)  Rangers leadoff hitter Delino DeShields flipped his bat away in frustration after an inning-ending popup.
Then he realized he was caught in the middle of shouting between San Francisco Giants starter Madison Bumgarner and Texas teammate Adrian Beltre. Almost as quickly, the benches and bullpens cleared and players from both teams were facing off in the infield.
