The Cubs have limited the Mets to 10 hits or fewer in each of their last 20 head-to-head meetings -- the longest active streak against one opponent.

The Cubs, who have scored fewer than three runs in six straight games for the first time since May 2009, have not done so in seven consecutive games since an eight-game streak April 29 -- May 6, 2006.

The Mets have won four consecutive games for the first time since their 11-game win streak earlier this season (April 12-23). The Mets scored exactly two runs in three of the four victories.

NEW YORK (AP)  Starlin Castro legged out a run-scoring infield single in the 11th inning, and the Chicago Cubs blanked the punchless New York Mets 2-0 Wednesday night for their second consecutive shutout at Citi Field.
Jon Lester returned to form with seven sharp innings, and the Cubs overcame a major baserunning blunder to score twice in the 11th. Miguel Montero added an RBI single and Chicago won its eighth straight against the Mets, including the first six of seven meetings this season.
