The Pirates have won eight of their last nine games against the Marlins at PNC Park dating back to 2012. Pittsburgh starting pitchers have a combined ERA of 2.62 in those meetings.

Pittsburgh outscored the New York Mets 21-4 in a three-game sweep at PNC Park over the weekend. In the series, Gerrit Cole, A.J. Burnett and Francisco Liriano became the first trio of Pirates starters to compile three straight double-digit strikeout games since Sept. 11-12, 1969, when Bob Veale, Bob Moose and Dock Ellis accomplished the feat. It's only the third time since 1900 that Pittsburgh has put together such a stretch.

Josh Harrison extended his hitting streak to 11 games on Sunday. He has hit .468 (22-for-47) during his streak, increasing his batting average from .173 to .261. Including this run, Harrison has four hitting streaks of 10 games or more since May 28, 2014.

David Phelps has a 1.50 ERA in four road starts this season. Entering 2015, Phelps compiled an ERA of 5.15 in 22 career starts away from home.

Dee Gordon has 17 percent of the Marlins' total hits this season (68 of 399), tied with Prince Fielder of the Rangers for the highest mark in the majors for a hitter.
