The Padres took three of four games from the Giants in April, limiting San Francisco to only three hits in 26 at-bats (.115) with runners in scoring position. The teams split a pair of 1-0 games to begin the series, before San Diego outscored the Giants, 16-6, over the final two games.

San Diego completed a three-game sweep of the Rockies with an 8-6 victory on Sunday. It was the seventh time this season that the Padres scored at least seven runs, a total they didn't reach last year until July 23. The Padres are the only team in the National League averaging over five runs per game (5.04).

Madison Bumgarner will be working on five days of rest since his start last Tuesday. So far this season, Bumgarner has compiled an 8.10 ERA over two starts on exactly four days of rest, but a 1.69 ERA over his other three outings.
