The Mets swept four games from Miami earlier this month to improve to 12-3 over the last 15 meetings. The Marlins actually collected more hits than New York in the most recent series (36-34), but the Mets outhit Miami with runners in scoring position, .382-.258.

Although the Mets dropped two of three games in the Subway series (versus Yankees) this weekend, the Mets still boast the majors' best record at 14-5 (.737). New York's 4.5-game lead in the NL East is currently the largest in any division, as well as the team's largest since September 2007.

After opening 3-11, the Marlins are currently tied with Pittsburgh for the longest active winning streaks in the National League (five each). Miami has committed just one error over its last 10 contests, and has allowed just six total runs while capturing the last five games.

Dillon Gee has received a grand total of seven runs of support while going 0-5 over his last seven road starts. Gee's average of 1.59 runs of support per nine innings away from home since the beginning of last July is the lowest by any pitcher (minimum 5 GS).

Jarred Cosart has combined nine strikeouts with only one walk over his last two starts. In his career, Cosart is 13-4 when issuing no more than two free passes, as opposed to 2-9 when he walks three or more.

Dee Gordon collected four hits on Sunday and was 8-for-13 in the weekend series versus Washington. It represented the fifth time this season that Gordon has accumulated at least three hits, which is the highest total in MLB.
