Tampa Bay captured all three season series against the Yankees between 2012 and 2014 (33-23 overall), but New York outscored the Rays, 19-7, while sweeping three games between April 17-19. Yankees relievers allowed no runs over 10.1 innings.

The Rays' current five-game winning streak is their longest since capturing nine in a row last July. In the process, Tampa Bay has risen from last place in the AL East entering last Wednesday to a tie with the Yankees atop the division today.
