The Pirates took two of three from the Brewers in Milwaukee, April 10-12. But the Brewers have won six of their last nine road games in this series.

The Brewers have allowed at least four runs in eight of their first nine games as well as 10 or more hits in seven of the nine contests. Both of those stats are tied for the most in the majors.

The Pirates have been shut out in back-to-back home contests, losing to the Tigers 2-0 on Tuesday and 1-0 on Wednesday. It has been more than 45 years since Pittsburgh has been blanked in three consecutive home games in a single season (August 28-30, 1968).

Andrew McCutchen has 22 career home runs versus the Brewers, which are his most against any club. He hit a three-run shot off Kyle Lohse in Pittsburgh's 10-2 win over Milwaukee on April 12.

Kyle Lohse, Saturday's scheduled starter, is 11-4 all-time against the Pirates, although he has struggled in his last two outings against them, going 0-2 with a 9.53 (12/11.1) ERA. His 11 career victories against Pittsburgh are his most versus any club.

Jeff Locke pitched well in his five home starts against divisional foes last season, going 1-2 with a 2.48 (9/32.2) ERA and .204 (23/113) opponent average. However, he is winless in four career home starts against the Brewers (0-1, 4.01 ERA).
